About The Event
Facilitated by Gil Bar-Sela & Laurie Archbold
Tuesdays, October 13 - December 1, 12-2pm PDT
From Covid to BLM, 2020 has been marked by immense disruptions to any form of status quo. It has exposed our greatest weaknesses, and painfully highlighted systems of violence that keep us separated and oppressed.
As we stand for black lives, safeguard the vibrancy of our communities, and demand structural changes so urgently needed, let’s remember that real sustainable change has to start from within each of us. So it is worth asking: who do I need to be in order to play my own unique part in our collective re-imagining? What in me has to be liberated?
Our advanced training is for those wanting to connect to their deeper self -- an often hidden source of strength and wisdom within us. It is for those who wish to strengthen their resilience during these turbulent times, discover their authentic inner compass, and learn how to maintain a deep, compassionate connection to self and others, even through differences.
We will integrate the Five Core Practices of Compassionate Listening allowing us to hold a space of learning and healing for ourselves and each other. Participants will leave with liberating tools to connect to their own full potential as it evolves. They will strengthen their capacity to listen deeply in an embodied way that allows for the work to continuously unfold long after their participation in the training. Self-inquiry practices are woven throughout the weekend, including drawing on indigenous wisdom to support participants in integrating the practices.
Our Advanced Training will:
- Strengthen your core Compassionate Listening skills: cultivating compassion, developing the fair witness, respecting self and others, and listening and speaking from the heart;
- Equip you with powerful practices to access inner guidance in your everyday life.
- Provide you with practical tools for resilience, inner freedom, and authentic expression.
Participants come with the intention to deepen their understanding and practice of Compassionate Listening, for embodiment in daily life. Some are inspired to facilitate practice groups, offer presentations and introductions, and/or consider applying to our Facilitator Certification Program. Some integrate Compassionate Listening with their existing work. Everyone is welcome.
Prerequisites:
Advanced courses are open to everyone who has taken a 1 or 2-day introductory training (including White People's Inner Work and White Fragilty courses with Debby and Yael) or participated in a CL Journey. Please contact us if you'd like to attend but have not yet participated in our work.
