About The Event

The purpose of this one-session workshop is to practice reflective listening—a core skill of Compassionate Listening and essential for all productive dialogue.

Reflective listening is a powerful skill in everyday conversation and in times of great conflict. We feel deeply heard when a listener reflects our own words back to us, without interpretation and their own stories. Reflective listening helps the speaker to deepen their own story and find the meaning in it. When the speaker feels deeply heard, a connection is made at the level of the heart, space is created, and relationships are built, even with people you do not agree with.

Join me to practice the three levels of listening: the facts of the event that took place, the feelings of the person telling the story, and the values underneath the feelings— values which the speaker may hold as so dear that life would not be worth living without them!

Who would benefit from joining a Reflective Listening practice session?

  • Anyone who wants to experience being fully heard
  • Anyone who is willing to remove the armor of self-protection, and notice where they can create more connection
  • Anyone who wants to practice Reflective Listening, so that they will be better able to stay grounded and present when conflict arises
  • Anyone who is looking for a community of practice

This online workshop will be held on Zoom. Our workshops are highly experiential and require your full presence, participation, and commitment to show up without distraction. Please plan to show up in a quiet, distraction-free environment, fully present and available to engage with the workshop.
