About The Event
Compassionate Listening Workshop: Healing Our World from the Inside Out
Facilitated by Camille Dickerson-Lemieux
Six Tuesdays, November 4 - December 16, 2025
(November 4th, 11th, 18th, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th)
5 pm- 7pm PT
" The world is violent and mercurial - it will have its way with you. We are saved only by love - love for each other and the love that we pour into the art we feel compelled to share: being a parent; being a writer, being a painter; being a friend. We live in a perpetually burning building, and what we must save from it, all the time, is love" - Tennessee Williams
In a world that can feel divided and overwhelming, Compassionate Listening offers a path back to connection. This practice teaches us how to listen deeply, speak from the heart, and transform conflict into understanding.
In this workshop, we’ll learn practical tools while also experiencing the joy of community, the relief of being truly heard, and the hope that arises when we practice together. It’s a space of depth and play, where courage and kindness grow side by side.
Come ready to learn, to connect, and to imagine the kind of world we can build when we listen with open hearts.
In this experiential workshop, we will explore the core practices of The Compassionate Listening Project, which offer practical tools to help us navigate difficult conversations and sustain ourselves in our work for peace and justice:
• Cultivating and Holding Compassion for oneself and others
• Developing the Fair Witness, without judgment or blame
• Maintaining Balance in the Heat of Conflict, with respect for self and others
• Listening with the Heart
• Speaking from the Heart, with language that reflects a healing intention
Together, we will practice the art of deep listening, not just to others, but to ourselves and the world around us. We will strengthen our ability to remain present, even in the face of disagreement, and to transform conflict into opportunities for connection and healing.
Come as you are. Leave with tools to sustain you.
Cost
$100 - Standard Ticket (This ticket covers your participation in the Intro to Compassionate Listening and helps sustain our programs.)
$150 - Community Builder Ticket (This ticket includes your participation while also contributing to our scholarship fund and the growth of Compassionate Listening.)
Since this is the first time we are offering this workshop in our community, we are excited to make it available at a special introductory price of $100. Future offerings will be at our regular tiered rates, but for this first series we want to lower the barrier to participation and welcome as many people as possible.
As always, the cost for this workshop series is tiered according to a pay-as-you-are-able structure. This enables us to offer workshops in a financially sustainable way while creating accessibility for those without financial means to attend, as well as opportunities for generosity for those who would like to support others' attendance.
We are committed to accessibility and sincerely wish for all who wish to attend our workshops to be able to do so, regardless of financial means. If the ticket price is not affordable for you, please submit a scholarship request. We sincerely want everyone who wishes to attend to have the opportunity.
Our scholarship program is made possible by generous contributions from our community. If you have the means, please consider choosing the Community Builder ticket or making an additional donation to support others in attending.
