About The Event

Masters throughout the ages recognize that listening is one of the most precious gifts we can give to another human being. The practice of Compassionate Listening builds trust, connection, understanding, respectful dialogue, and sustainable solutions. It is ideal for those involved in conflict transformation and peacebuilding in a professional or personal context, and for those who are passionate about building bridges and healing relationships in our world.

This two day session will introduce and strengthen the practices of:

-Cultivating compassion - towards ourselves and others.

-Developing the fair witness - honing our ability to “go to the balcony” during stressful interactions and combine cognitive awareness with the wisdom of the heart.

-Respecting self and others.

-Listening and speaking from the heart...as well as the opportunity to put these into practice within a safe environment.

Cost:

This workshop is being offered on a sliding scale of $175 - $300 (no questions asked). Pre-registration is required with your $50 deposit here. The remainder will be due at the end of the workshop, according to your ability to pay and your perceived value.

Facilitator: Laurie Archbold has a passion for deep connection between people that has guided her to lead transformational programs for more than 10 years. She has a wide background of studies including a B.A. in Comparative Religions and Middle East Studies, and has engaged in citizen diplomacy work in Lebanon, Israel, and Palestine. Laurie has a passion for mentoring and supporting people to be connected to nature, community, and self . When she isn't cultivating connection between humans, she can be found exploring the wild places of Northern California and the Pacific Northwest with her partner.
