Being a Compassionate Companion is a workshop designed to explore skills caregivers can use on their journey of caring for and accompanying others.

If you hear the inner voice that encourages you to keep on serving, then you need to fuel your spirit to carry on, to keep the fire burning, and to do your part even when you are unsure or when fear and fatigue take over. Join us in an exploration of skills embedded in the practices of Compassionate Listening which will help you align your actions and your values and exercise compassion for yourself and others in support of your journey. In doing so, you will cultivate comfort and more ease with everything you may have suppressed for so long while caregiving for others. These precepts for caregivers can be also understood as practices for anyone navigating a transition, coping with loss or serious illness, and/or managing a personal crisis.

Prerequisite

There is no prerequisite for this series, and Compassionate Listeners of all skill levels (including beginners) are invited to join.

Cost

$30 - Friend

$50 - Supporter

$75 - Champion

$100 - Visionary

The cost for this workshop series is tiered according to a pay-as-you-are-able structure. This enables us to offer workshops in a financially sustainable way while creating accessibility for those without financial means to attend, as well as opportunities for generosity for those who would like to support others' attendance.

We are committed to accessibility and sincerely wish for all who wish to attend our workshops to be able to do so, regardless of financial means. If the $30 ticket price is not affordable for you, please submit a scholarship request.

Your generous donations make our scholarship program possible. If you have the means, please consider donating to our scholarship fund to enable others to attend who otherwise would not be able to do so.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the first session will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the first session will receive a tuition credit which may be used towards any future Compassionate Listening course or workshop.

Please note that due to the sacred container of trust which participants build with one another in this course, as well as the cumulative nature of the curriculum, we request that participants make every effort to attend the first session. Should unforeseen circumstances prevent this, your registration will be canceled and we will apply your tuition as credit toward a future course.

Event Details

This online workshop will be held on Zoom. Our workshop are highly experiential and require your full presence, participation, and commitment to show up without distraction. Please plan to show up in a quiet, distraction-free environment, fully present and available to engage with the workshop. Please do not join while in transit (walking, driving, on the bus, etc.), or while multitasking (cooking, working, watching television, etc.).

Breakout rooms will be used to guide participants through our introductory curriculum in small groups. Please connect to the event using a device that has full video and audio capability, and plan to have your video turned on for the majority of the workshop once it begins. (It's okay to turn your video off temporarily if a background visual distraction occurs.) Finally, we respectfully request that you attend all sessions possible.

This is a 2-session class. Please note that all participants are required to attend the first session in order to honor and support the container of trust which will set the tone for the following three sessions.

If you have any questions, please contact us at staff@compassionatelistening.org.

Looking forward to meeting you in the circle!
