A Creative Search for Compassion

October 7, 2016 - October 9, 2016

Workshop Description: We are in search of a way to be truly present in the moment. We are hungry for an awareness of and communication with the sacred Self, others, and the natural world. This three-day workshop is an immersion into nature, community building, walking meditation, poetry, and Compassionate Listening ®. Participants will learn powerful skills for peace-making, starting with peace within ourselves, and then the world beyond.

Gina Marie Mammano

Inspired by the ancient spiritual practices of lectio divina and walking meditation, Gina Marie Mammano’s book Camino Divina- Walking the Divine Way helps readers explore whole new worlds inside themselves as well as re-view the natural world all around by combining mindful walking with inspiring phrases and spiritual exercises through the ideas of twelve spiritual luminaries. Gina is an award winning poet whose work has been published in journals and magazines such as the Dos Passos Review, Poetica, Pilgrimage Journal, Bearings, and Crucible among others. Her training as a spiritual director, work as a retreat leader, and experiences gleaned from the Opening the Book of Nature program have allowed her the ability to create interactive and intuitive listening exercises both in the interior and exterior landscapes.
